Chapter 2: Bewitched by the eyes of the dead

“Making my way downtown, kicking ass, Starbucks in hand going to Jay’s house” I hummed to myself as I was walking to go pick up Jay from his house so we can walk to school together. I knocked on his pastel green door and he opened up the door already dressed, “Zayum boy you is fine” I joked with him and I saw his rainbow colored eyes rolled making me giggle as he looked up at me. I couldn’t help but think about Soul his platinum hair that seemed to defy gravity made my spine tingle with excitement. We seemed to have walked miles “Dude why do you have to live so far from school?” I asked and he shrugged and continued to walk and I sighed in exasperation trudging along the stony path.

We stopped in front of the DWMA I followed Jay inside we had about an hour and 10 minutes of free time before class starts and I was pretty hungry so I looked in my bag taking out a biscuit I made earlier with some [Favorite Spread] and I looked at Jay and frowned slightly handing him a granola bar. “Hey just because we don’t live with each other doesn’t mean I won’t stop loving you okay” I did a warm smile to him and I couldn’t really read his emotionless face, but I placed a hand on his shoulder and felt him flinch. I laughed, “I’ll see you in class bro” and I ran off watching him take one last glance at the granola bar walking off to only god knows where.

I sprinted down the hall of guillotines and stopped at Lord Death’s door glancing around looking at the oddly shaped figure of black. “Where’s Uncle Spirit?” I asked not really wanting to know but I wanted to start conversation. “Oh dear, Oh my, what are you doing here my dear boy?!” he asked bouncing with full enthusiasm. I grimaced at the sight of happiness, ‘Oh god I feel like Jay now’ I thought to myself. “I came for school obviously” I replied to the Master of death, “I mean what you are doing here so early! Even Kid isn’t awake this early” he explained. “Well I’m determined to be the best Meister I can be” I said [Insert Favorite Pose] standing proudly.

*Jay’s Pov*

‘I wonder why he cares so much’ I thought to myself glancing at the granola bar [Y/n] gave me in my hand. I tore the silver wrapper taking a piece placing it in my mouth chewing slowly grimacing as it stuck to my teeth. I heard small chanting noises coming from down the large staircase that lead to the depths of the school and I let my curiosity wander as I continued down the stone hard stairs. “Bring on the fire, Bring on the hell” I heard the voice began to grow in its tone of pitch. I could feel myself being lulled into to its agonizingly slow melody. “Set everything a blaze, so that no trace remains” I continued into the darkness.

“Why hello Jay miss me?” the voice asked in a deep American accent and I ran towards the doors only to have them close in as I let out one, last bone-chilling scream.

*[Y/n]’s Pov*

“Soul!”, I said sprinting faster than any normal Meister, I watched him turn around his hands shoved deep into the pockets off his jacket. Maka stood by his side a smile plastered on her face with a dreamy look, as she gazed at Oblivion, he was a special weapon but the thing is the only one who knew what his true form was Jay. I smirked and elbowed Soul as he watched Maka staring at the Teal haired boy “You don’t have a chance Maka” he glanced at Maka, she turned around with an angry expression “Shut up Soul” she said and Soul just smirked and continued teasing her until she pulled out an hard covered book and I glanced at it for a second wondering what was about to happen next.

“Maka..” I heard her whisper and I looked between the both of them until she brought the book down over his head “CHOP!” a spurt of blood came out of Soul’s nose as he fell on the ground sprawled out like a spider. I jumped back slightly and lifted Soul onto my shoulders ‘Man is he heavy’ I thought to myself and I dragged him off to the infirmary to get his injuries tended too. I laid Soul onto the hospital bed, he groaned and I couldn’t help but laugh as I took down some bandages and began to wrap them around his injured head. “Looks like someone is two brain cells short” I teased and cut the remaining piece of the bandage off standing up to admire my work only to be pulled back down by Soul.

“Shut up” he said and I couldn’t help but blush at the position we were in. There was a shadow casted upon Soul’s crimson eyes, his hand grasping my [F/c] shirt. “S-Soul” I whimpered silently and looked at him, that’s when he pulled me into a kiss I hesitated before kissing him back careful not to graze my lips on his sharp teeth. He pulled away with a small blush on his face and I rubbed my arm slightly looking to the side. He stood up and wrapped his arms around my waist, “It’s settled then” he said and I gazed at him confused. “From this day forth you are my official boyfriend” he said with a fist on his heart and I nodded kissing his cheek before running out.

I ran into Stein’s classroom and he patted my head as I rushed off to his desk as I went under it to grab my pet Panda. I heard the ticking of his screw and I glanced at him watching as he walked over to the board the moment Soul walked into the room he scrapped the chalk board with his nails making an ear busting sound. “What the hell Stein?” asked Soul as he sat down next to Maka and I. I just hugged [N/n] and he smiled at me I saw Maka glance at the window and then I looked up and had my eyes widened with fear as I glanced around the room breathing hard.

I saw Kid, Black Star and Crona glance at me along with Soul I stood up and looked around before making my way down to the board and I looked at Stein. I whispered to him, as he nodded and I ran out the room with the Panda tight in my grasp with an illuminating black aura around me as I continued down the hallway. “So you finally found us ay?” I said exiting the DWMA and ran home I fumbled with the keys, “Akujin” I called out and I saw the tall male walk out. “It is time” I said walking out he nodded following me without looking back.

The black aura surrounded us both and I laughed silently looking up at the bleeding sun “Tonight when the moon shines white we can crossover but for now” I looked back at the Midnight purple haired boy. “Hide in the shadows and eliminate anyone…who gets in my way” I glance at him a black shadow casting over my once bright [E/c] eyes and I walked back to the DWMA. “[Y/n] you’re back!” I heard a preppy voice call out and I looked up to see patty towering above me and her overly large breast in my face.

I looked up the shadow still over my eyes and she looked at me with curiosity poking my cheek and I gave her [N/n] I hear her squeal “Panda” before running off. I walked into Stein’s class to find it empty which was a good thing so I could think and I took a seat at my desk staring down at the Mahogany wood. “Hmph just my day” I huffed and I heard the door screech as someone walked in I looked up to see Soul and the entire group staring at me I looked at him doing a closed eye smile before jumping down gracefully landing in front of them. I saw him blush and look away shoving his hands in his pockets, I felt a hand slung over my shoulder and I looked over to see Oblivion. “Where were you today buddy it was awfully lonely without you” he asked joy was evident in his voice I shrugged him off, “Don’t worry about it” I chuckled before being pulled back by my wrist I turned around looking at Soul and I stared into his crimson eyes.

“Don’t make me worry like that you hear” he said glaring at me and I blushed and looked away. “I can take care of myself” I say and I felt him place a hand on my back before pulling me into his chest. My eyes widening and I felt all eyes on us and I looked over to see the smile on Maka’s face and I pulled away and I turned away from everyone with a bright red blush on my face. Soul was smirking and I began to smile mischievously I turned planting a kiss on his lips, he gasped and I ran out of the room and I rolled my eyes as my long black jacket fluttered behind me and I jumped up grasping one of the chandeliers on the ceiling and began to swing from them.

“[Y/n]!!” I heard a voice called and I somersaulted to another chandelier looking down at the voice seeing Spirit and Stein. “Yes” I asked in a sing song voice, “What are you doing?!” he yelled at me and I jumped again hearing him gasp again. I hung onto the next chandelier giggling insanely, “[Y/n]! Stop that this instant” I looked at him again “And if I don’t?” I asked in questioning tone I heard a snicker come from Stein. “I will ground you and Stein stop laughing this isn’t funny one of my beloved nephews will be hurt” he said tears coming out of his eyes I saw Maka and her group coming towards us. I rolled my eyes jumping down only to be caught by Spirit, “You ruined my game you know” I said looking into his teal eyes. “Don’t do that again okay” he asked and I just giggled standing up.

“Whatever you say old man” I say and smiled holding my handout towards him as he took it. “You truly are something else” he said I nodded looking down the hallway my hair gleaming before holding my hand out making a gun. ‘Believe it’ I thought to myself before I said “Bang” motioning my gun sign upwards looking at the figure that sprawled out on the ground. “Really Blythe?” I asked and Spirit looked at him surprised. The lavender haired boy nodded prancing over to us next standing next to Oblivion. “WHAT THE HELL?” I heard Spirit gasp and I took both Oblivion and Blythe by the hand and I bowed and looked the group. I did an thumbs up at all of them and they all smiled at me, “Look guys we finally have a family” I smiled at the both of them I felt Oblivion place a hand on my head I grinned and crossed my arms. I turned away and frowned looking at the ceiling “Where are you?” and I walked away “Where are you going this time?” I heard Maka ask. I didn’t turn around I just sighed “Don’t follow me this time you here” I said in a cheerful voice. “Huh?” asked Black Star I could sense the confusion I smiled darkly.

“Don’t follow me..if you don’t want to die” I whispered and spinning on my heel trailing off into the endless hallway. I saw the sun beginning to set and I smirked “Akujin” I called out and he stepped out of the shadows and bowed infront of me and I took the hand he placed on his chest “Transform” I said and he did so, I held in my hand a double sided [F/c] war hammer with a skull imprint on each side of the bon crushing weapon. The weapon stood at a staggering 7 feet and I grinned menacingly, the bleeding moon began to turn to the purest white and it casted a small portal. “It’s play time” I say jumping into the portal as it closed off from the world of Death City.
